Ode To First-Season Rembrandt
by Nigel Mitchell

This is an ode regarding the radical changes "Sliders" has made to Rembrandt Brown's character in the second season, compared to the first. With apologies to William Shakespeare...

Alas, poor Rembrandt!
I knew him, Professor Arturo:
a fellow of infinite jest,
of most excellent musical talent.
He hath borne me on the wings of laughter a thousand times;
and now, how violent in my imagination he is!
My heart sinks at it.
Here hung those lips that have sung
I know not how often.
Where be your gibes now?
Your humor?
Your songs?
Your flashes of merriment and style
that were wont to set Sliders fandom on a roar?
Not one now, to mock your newfound cruelty?
Now get you to Tracy Torme's office and tell the writers,
let them restore your music and laughter,
to this favor we must ask;
make them rewrite you at that.
